The most important thing to know

HomeNet manages your router by talking to it directly over your own local Wi-Fi network. Your router's admin username/password, its session tokens, its local IP/MAC address, its Wi-Fi credentials, connected-device details, and anything else about how it's configured never leave your phone and are never sent to, or seen by, HomeNet's servers. This is a fundamental part of how the app is built, not just a policy promise.

Information we collect

An optional, free HomeNet account is only needed for family profiles, notifications, and syncing settings across your devices. If you create one, we collect:

  • circleYour email address, and a display name if you choose to set one.
  • circleIf you sign up with a password: an irreversible cryptographic hash of it — we do not store or have access to your actual password.
  • circleIf you sign in with Google or Apple: the name, email address, and a stable account identifier that provider shares with us when you choose to sign in that way. We never see or store your Google or Apple password.
  • circleBasic session information needed to keep you signed in on your devices, and a security log of account events (sign-in, sign-out, password changes) so we can help you if something looks wrong.
  • circleIf you use sync: your family profile setup, app preferences, notification settings, speed test history, and the labels/names you've given your routers — never router credentials or network details.
  • circleIf you turn on HomeNet Managed DNS: the domains our DNS resolver blocks for your household, used to show your own blocking stats and, if a home has real blocking activity, an optional weekly summary email to the Owner — never a full browsing history, and never anything from a device or Home with Managed DNS turned off.
  • circleIf you subscribe to Premium: your subscription status, and payment details handled directly by our payment processor, Paymob — we do not store your card details ourselves.

Local router management works fully without ever creating an account.

How we use this information

  • circleTo operate your account and keep you signed in.
  • circleTo send account-related email — verifying your email address or helping you reset your password — and, only if a Home you own has real Managed DNS blocking activity, a weekly summary email — never marketing emails.
  • circleTo sync the settings above across your own devices.
  • circleTo respond if you contact us for support.

What we don't do

  • circleWe don't include any third-party analytics or advertising SDKs in the app.
  • circleWe don't sell your information to anyone.
  • circleWe don't access, store, or transmit your router's admin credentials, session tokens, certificates, or local network details.

Third parties

We share information only with the services needed to run HomeNet: Google or Apple (only if you choose to sign in with them, governed by their own privacy policies), our email delivery provider (for account emails only), Paymob (only if you subscribe to Premium, governed by their own privacy policy), Sentry (our crash-reporting tool, described below), and our hosting provider.

Crash and error reporting

If the app or our backend encounters an unexpected error, we use Sentry to automatically collect technical diagnostic information — device model, OS version, app version, and details about what the app was doing when the error happened — so we can find and fix bugs. This is automatic, technical data only; we don't use it for analytics, advertising, or tracking, and it's never linked to your router's admin credentials, session tokens, or Wi-Fi password, which are handled by a completely separate part of the app that this tool has no access to.

Data retention and deletion

You can delete your account at any time, permanently and immediately, either from Settings inside the app or at homenetwifi.top/delete-account — no request, no waiting. This removes your account, your subscription and payment records held by us, any homes you own along with their routers and DNS filtering, your membership of homes shared with you, and your synced settings. Records our payment processor keeps are governed by their own policy and by applicable financial record-keeping law. If you have any trouble, email admin@homenetwifi.top from your account's address and we'll do it for you.

Children

HomeNet's account features are not directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect information from children.
